Celebrating One of Our Own, Cheryl Wiltshire is a Rising Star!

We are proud to announce that Cheryl Wiltshire received the Rising Star Award from the Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporation (PACDC). This coveted honor recognizes people under 40 who are working for community based organizations with a PACDC membership.

Cheryl was nominated by our Executive Director, Stephanie Michel, as a result of her stand out performance as the Broad & Olney Corridor Manager. Her outstanding leadership and event planning skills made her a prime candidate for this Award.

Cheryl joined our team 7 years ago as a City Planner Intern and Volunteer. She never missed an opportunity to engage in strategic planning, connect with business owners, and support community clean-ups. When the opportunity to establish a new position for the Broad & Olney Business District was presented, our leadership was confident that Cheryl was the perfect person for the job.

Cheryl brings problem-solving skills, commitment and dedication to tackling tasks of all sizes  for our team.  It was clear when Cheryl joined our small team that she was a hard worker.

Her flexibility and adaptability made her an esteemed member. Her strong work ethic and proven track record for attention to detail has greatly benefitted OCC in demanding situations.

Cheryl is an Olney native and resident. After graduating from Olney Charter High School in 2019, Cheryl continued her education at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. This is where she found her place as a Criminal Justice major with a minor in Youth Empowerment and Urban Development. Hoping to continue to ignite change around her, she found ways to fit volunteer work into her schedule. It is this love for giving back to the community that reconnected her to her roots at OCC where she continues to excel.

In 2023, Cheryl presented at the Main Street America conference about youth advocacy. She also participated in PACDC’s Corridor Manager On-Boarding program to expand her knowledge and skill set.

Cheryl is an asset to the Olney community and we are grateful to have Cheryl on our Team. We are excited to continue to celebrate her achievements and be a part of her professional growth. Join us in CONGRATULATING our very own, Cheryl Wiltshire!
